Give Grandly 2023 — Saturday, May 6, 2023

We are gearing up for Give Grandly 2023, and it's going to be a great one this year. We have 63 confirmed nonprofits participating—more than any other year—and we can proudly say that we have raised sufficient match funds to guarantee each participating nonprofit who reaches at least $500 in donations an extra $500 in match funds. Thank you to all of the individuals and organizations who contributed to make that possible--you know who you are!

We have a brand new Give Grandly website, with all kinds of bells and whistles, and we can't wait to try it out. Online donations will open on April 22nd and close a month later, on May 22nd. You can donate on the Give Grandly website (www.givegrandly.org) or by filling out the hard-copy donation form and dropping it off at the Grant County Community Foundation offices at 1106 N Pope. Or you can turn up on the day: the Give Grandly in-person event on Saturday, May 6th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the downtown Makers Market. 

On May 6, you can give in person to your favorite charities while enjoying the fun, frolics and philanthropy that our fabulous residents are famous for. We'll have music, food, drumming, radio interviews, tons of children's activities—and even activities for adults, including a beer garden—so don't miss out on all the fun. Drop down and find out from our wonderful nonprofit community what they will do with the funds you donate. Every year, they rely on our community's generous donations to keep he lights on, pay the staff, and do all the work that makes our community so vibrant and caring. Upcoming Nonprofit Capacity Building Workshops 

Optimizing your Grant Research on GrantStation in the LibraryAs many of you know by now, the Community Foundation purchased, and installed in the Silver City Library, a grant research database for nonprofits to use to research grant opportunities, which is free to all. While this is a great opportunity for nonprofits (and individuals) to research grant opportunities, it can be daunting to engage with a new research database. So, we have managed to snag Cindy Adams, the founder of GrantStation, who is now retired, to carry out a 90 minute session with us all on Friday, July 14th. This is an amazing opportunity to learn how to maximize your grant research. More details to follow, but if you're interested in attending, drop me an email and I'll pencil you in! Strategic Planning with a Twist On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 17th, Steve Alley from EAC Associates in Tucson will present a 2-3 hour workshop on Strategic Planning—strategically! Steve is an expert consultant in the nonprofit world, and he understands the time and energy challenges for nonprofits of developing things like Strategic Plans. So he will take an upside down approach to strategic planning and show you how you can use what you're already doing as a basis and build from there. Again, I'll have more detailed information on this soon, but for now, if you are interested in attending the workshop, please email me as soon as you can. Nonprofit Finance, Board Roles and Responsibility, Leadership, etc. In September, we are hoping to bring in two nonprofit consultants for a full day (or two half days) to provide workshops on various aspects of nonprofit finance, board roles and responsibilities, leadership, self-care, etc. This is still in the planning phase, but, again, if organizations are interested, please let me know so I can move forward with planning this event. The 30 Something Grants— Mayday! 

Janey Katz has informed me that they still have not received many applications for the 2023 30 Something Grants, and encourages nonprofits to get applications in! 

If you are wondering what the requirements are to apply for these $30,000 awards, check out The 30 Something website at the30something.org or at the Grant County Community Foundation website, here. It's an easy one-page application, and last year The 30 Something gave away three $30,000 awards, for a total of $90,000!
