Grant County Art Guild Gallery artist Gay Scheibl will be holding oil painting demonstrations at the GCAG Gallery Friday, May 5, from 5-7pm during the Silver City Art Association First Friday Gallery Walk. During "First Fridays" downtown SCAA galleries extend their hours until 7pm and offer light refreshments, art demonstrations and other art art events. Scheibl is known regionally for her fine art oil painting, including portraits of people and animals. Most of her portraiture is commissioned work, but you can see examples (plus her other work) at the Grant County Art Guild Gallery, 316 N Bullard, in Silver City, NM. Her contact information is available at the Gallery. Scheibl is also an avid Plein Air painter (painting outdoors), and facilitates Grant County Art Guild Plein Air events and competitions. She offers private painting lessons, and occasionally teaches group classes, including drawing, at the GCAG Studio.
