RonTroyJuly 16, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street – "New Mexico Land Conservancy"

Ron Troy of the New Mexico Land Conservancy will describe how this small land trust has helped landowners across New Mexico and southeastern Arizona protect the places they love. Learn how the NMLC team's passionate and hard-working efforts have resulted in the protection of more than 130 properties comprised of approximately 675,000 acres along with the myriad of associated conservation values.

"The permanency and the breadth of fish and wildlife habitat, cultural resources, restoration activities, working farms and ranches, food security, and scenic open space that NMLC's work has embodied in their 20-year history as a 501c3 non-profit is inspiring," Troy said.

"We'll also have a slide presentation that will show the State of New Mexico and southeast Arizona's natural resources. You can learn how NMLC's conservation easements, along with the landowner's they work with, protect, and often restore and enhance many of these hidden treasures," he added.

Ron Troy was born on the banks of the Yellowstone River, grew up in Idaho, attended New Mexico State University where he met Yvette Torrez, his native New Mexican bride and cultural compass of 40 years. He says that Yvette, along with his roots along the Yellowstone River, his experiences guiding in Idaho's Primitive Area, working in commercial real estate in Boise, Idaho, farming and ranching in New Mexico's Hondo Valley, and performing wildlife research in Idaho and New Mexico have helped build the trust with landowners to conserve and protect the hundreds of thousands of acres that NMLC has been able place under perpetual conservation easements. Troy serves as New Mexico Land Conservancy's Southern NM Program Manager.
