 The Allingham- Golding Post 18 American Legion at 409 West College Street was chartered in 1919, and is one of the first 10 posts chartered in New Mexico after WWI.

Post 28 offers coffee and donuts for veterans every Wednesday from 8-11 am. It will host a special guest speaker, Aisya Salas, a Cadette from West Point Academy, on November 22nd at 9am. The public is invited to this, and also to see how the post has archived local veterans' service— from the Fort Bayard Buffalo Soldiers, WWI, WWII, Bataan, Korea and Vietnam to the recent Gulf Wars at the American Legion Hall.
