ICYMI: Heinrich Charges Comey Firing Nixonian, Demands Special Prosecutor on MSNBC

During an interview on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, renewed his call for an independent prosecutor to take over the investigation into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign. He said that President Trump's dismissal of FBI Director Comey indicates the president believes he's above the law and that it smacks of President Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre.

"The only logical explanation at this point is the most obvious one: that the investigation was getting a little too close to the White House, he was feeling the heat," said Sen. Heinrich.
