Thurs July 13 – Sunday July 16, International Folk Art Market, Museum Hill Santa Fe:
2017 International Folk Art Market outdoors exhibiting works from more than 170 artists from more than 60 countries. Related events hosted by the Museum of International Folk Art include gallery talks and hands-on workshops, primarily with market artists and musicians. Admission to free, related events inside the museums are free with market admission, except where noted. Parking will be unavailable at the Museum of International Folk Art and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture Thursday, July 13—Sunday, July 16. Visitors use a free park-and-ride service provided by the City of Santa Fe, which departs from the South Capitol Rail Runner station and the PERA building. Families Make History - learn about painting with a natural dye, cochineal. This dye powder is made from the bodies of dried female cochineal insects, found in Mexico, Central America and some parts of the southwestern U.S. Make your own watercolor paints in reds, pinks and purples and experiment. Horno Construction, Palace of the Governors, Downtown Santa Fe
Construction of a beehive shaped mud-oven known as a Horno in the courtyard of the Palace of the Governors began this week, and finishes next week. The completed horno will bake bread for Museum visitors. http://media.newmexicoculture.org/release/577/horno-construction-project-in-palace-courtyard

Quilts of Southwest China, Museum of International Folk Art, Santa Fe Museum Hill
Just opened last weekend, this is an exhibit of opulent textiles that have previously received little attention from scholars, collectors, or museums.
