AWSDA Annual Self-Defense Training

The American Women’s Self-Defense Association (AWSDA) is holding its 2017 Annual Self-Defense Training Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The training is scheduled for September 21 through September 24, and is being held at the Best Western Plus Executive Suites.

September 21 will be the four hour AWSDA women’s self-defense class. This is a beginner class that will introduce women to the strategies, tactics, and techniques needed to win a possible life and death confrontation against a bigger, stronger, committed attacker. Women are welcome to attend this class as a stand-alone class without taking the Instructor Certification.

September 22 is the AWSDA Instructor Training and Certification class. Students will learn how to present the four hour curriculum and be given all the tools they need to teach their own classes. September 23 is a full day of various self-defense topics such as basic physical fighting concepts, working with improvised weapons, and learning about sex offenders. The weekend will be wrapping up on the 24th with a half day of classes including deadly-force decision-making and the basics of weapons and safety products.

No previous self-defense experience is needed to attend the training. Students can attend the entire weekend, or pick the days that work best for them. AWSDA has a block of hotel rooms reserved at the Best Western Plus Executive Suites at 4630 Pan American Freeway NE in Albuquerque. Rooms can be reserved at the AWSDA rate by calling 505-830-0900.

Visit us at the AWSDA website (www.awsda.org) for more information and to get your registration form. Registrations received prior to August 28 receive $50 off. There are also scholarship opportunities available! Scholarship applications are available on the website.
