Phoenix, AZ. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) the trade association for the firearms industry, has announced a combined reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from Zuni Mountain Pawn, a federal firearms licensee (FFL), located at 140 NM-371, Thoreau, NM 87323.

On Friday, August 15, 2017, an unknown suspect(s) wearing dark clothing burglarized Zuni Mountain Pawn. Thirteen firearms were stolen, but nine firearms were quickly recovered near the business by responding officers. In addition to the four (4) stolen firearms, the burglar(s) stole silver and turquoise jewelry, as well as cash. ATF is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $5,000. This burglary is being investigated by the following agencies; McKinley County Sheriff's Office, Crownpoint Police Department and the ATF.

Description of the Four (4) Stolen Guns:

"The ATF, along with the McKinley County Sherriff's Office and Crownpoint Police Department, are committed to ensuring that our communities are safe and that those who violate federal firearm laws are held accountable," said John Durastanti, Special Agent in Charge for the ATF Phoenix Field Division. "We will relentlessly pursue any criminals who attempt to acquire or distribute stolen weapons and we will utilize all of our resources to ensure that they are held accountable for their violent and dangerous actions."
This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.
