On January 20, 2018 the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was contacted to investigate allegations that a man sexually assaulted his four year daughter at a residence in Ft. Sumner, NM.

During the investigation, NMSP agents obtained evidence that in September 2017, Mr. Robert M. Kelsey (47) of Sierra Vista, AZ, was visiting his children in Ft. Sumner and sexually assaulted his daughter.

On January 30, 2018, New Mexico State Police agents traveled to Sierra Vista, AZ and, with assistance from local authorities, arrested Mr. Kelsey. He will be arraigned in Arizona before extradition to New Mexico to face the charge of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor (under the age of 13), a third-degree felony.
