Tucumcari, NM – April 24, 2018 – Tucumcari, New Mexico is rich with history and was the location for filming the television series "Rawhide." In celebration of the area's history — as well as the filming of the television series — the third annual Tucumcari Rawhide Days will take place the first weekend of May.

From Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6, Tucumcari will be transformed into an Old West town with special events to entertain visitors of all ages. Special guests for the event include Clint Eastwood's daughter, Kimber Eastwood Midkiff; Sheb Wooley's daughter, Chrystie Wooley; and Paul Brinegar's wife Shirley and his son, Mark Brinegar.

"Tucumcari is an incredible town, and has a truly unique history," said Tucumcari Mayor Ruth Ann Litchfield. "This May, we invite everyone to experience firsthand what life was like in our historic town in the days of the Old West. For those who love history, love Route 66, and love the series 'Rawhide,' it's the perfect time to immerse yourself in the world of the wild west."

In addition to the Famous Longhorn Cattle Drive and Horse Parade along Historic Route 66, events will include gunfights, a blacksmith competition, fine metal art auction, chuck wagons, Lil Miss Rawhide, Lil Wrangler and Miss Rawhide competitions, games for children, food, vendors and more. New to this year's events will be a ranch rodeo, a country music jamboree talent show, a benefit dinner and dance for Horses for Heroes, Native American Dances, Cowboy Church services, horseshoe pitching contests and more.

Attendees can enjoy musical performances by Johnny Lee & the Urban Cowboy Band and Singer Songwriter Adrian "Buckaroogirl" Brannan. Also in attendance will be award-winning western artists Randy Huston and Doug Figgs with world class musician, Marium Funke.
