Santa Fe, N.M. – This month, Representative Elizabeth “Liz” Thomson (D-Albuquerque) was appointed by the National Conference of State Legislatures to serve as a member of the Health and Human Services Policy Working Group. As one of only 40 members nationwide appointed, Representative Thomson will be a guiding force for the work of the Health and Human Services Committee.

“I’m confident that the work I do as a member of the Policy Working Group will help in my role as a state legislator as I fight to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare for all New Mexicans,” said Representative Liz Thomson. “I’m honored to serve in this role and look forward to finding solutions to our nation’s most pressing healthcare issues.”

Representative Thomson has long been an advocate for improving our healthcare system, including passing legislation to reform ‘step therapy’ to ensure patients get the best, most effective care.
