el paso 1 rsEl Paso, NM – Today, Democrats and Republicans in the New Mexico House of Representatives visited various El Paso Electric facilities on their first stop of the Santa Teresa Area Jobs Listening Tour. This bipartisan tour brought House members into communities in southern New Mexico to learn about economic development successes and needs, and to listen and learn from local business and economic development leaders.

These job creation listening tours have encouraged important conversation about economic development," said Speaker of the House Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe). "It's exciting to be out in the community with our members, and to gain valuable insight into industry on the ground."
 
As part of the facilities tour, members visited El Paso Electric's Montana Power Station, El Paso Electric's Community Solar facility, and El Paso Electric's System Operations center. Speaker Egolf joined House Majority Whip Doreen Gallegos (D-Las Cruces), as well as local legislators from the tour area and Representatives from around New Mexico.
