Saturday, August 4 (Noon) -- Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire (34 Country Club Rd.)

ANGEL FIRE, NM–A Native American Veterans Exhibit will open on August 4 at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire.

New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Secretary Jack Fox will be joined at a noon ceremony by prominent Native American veterans and members of the veteran community to welcome the exhibit to the Memorial, which is managed by DVS.

nm dept veterans services logoJoining them will be artist and U.S. Marine/U.S. Air Force veteran TyAnn Nakai, who will oversee the exhibit featuring photographs, artifacts, artwork, and stories honoring Native American veterans—a segment of our nation's veteran population with the highest per capita percentage of military service. According to Ms. Nakai, the exhibit is her vision "to show love and gratitude for those Native American warriors and veterans often overlooked and forgotten. "
