Bisbee Pirates at the Bisbee After 5 Artwalk

Bisbee, AZ – "Artwalk" the plank this second Saturday, August 11, 2018 as "Bisbee Pirates of the Wasteland" descend upon the town. Dress in your best post-apocalyptic pirate costume and join in the fun! Wander from the wreckage to see a new recycled art show, take in a Black Sails marathon, view art of the feminine, buy a vial of mermaid tears (and other great booty), join in the "Apocalympics," and capture your experience by a professional photographer. After the artwalk, the bars will have live music, drink specials, and more! Here's what you can expect:

Events & Openings

What comes after "Recycled Everything?" The Tang Gallery presents "Recycled Everything 2" with an all new cast and all new images! This time we have "furry" chairs, sculptures made out of old barbecue grills, and paintings wrapped with twine and newspaper clippings. "Recycled Everything 2" opens on Saturday, August 11 with an opening reception from 4 to 7 pm, in conjunction with the Bisbee after 5 artwalk. Fifteen new local artists, many from Tucson and many member artists will participate with unique new work. Participants include Richard Jeltes, Linda Bohlke, Monica Durazo, David Contreras, Frances Nebolon, Karen Kayler, Eva Arenas, Peter Kuttner, Elizabeth Line, Carolyn Yeutter, and many other interesting and new artists never seen before in Bisbee. The exhibition, located at 32 Main St., continues until October 7.

The Bisbee Tour Company has a lineup of fun for the Pirate Weekend Artwalk!Visit our ship-deck located in the Port of Historic Bisbee at 8 Naco Rd. Walk the plank and have your photo taken by one of our professional photographers, relax for a while and get into watching a Black Sails marathon, or just stop in to chat and check out some great art displayed throughout the building.

Please join PSA Art Awakenings for the final reception of Legacies of the Feminine. Stop by 50 Main Street from 5 pm to 7 pm during the artwalk. PSA is bringing community together through the Arts while keeping the common cause of happiness on the quaint little streets of Bisbee.

August 10th-12th, 2018: 8th Annual Bisbee Pirates Weekend -- This year's theme is post-apocolyptic with "Bisbee Pirates of the Wasteland." All the Seas have dried up and we find ourselves here in Bisbee, Arizona for a 3-day cosplay event. Friday is the #Forbidenzona Pub Crawl through the Old Bisbee wreckage starting at 2:30. Registration, bracelets, rules and schedule will be provided at the Bisbee Tour Co. COSTUME REQUIRED, 21+ with valid I.D. On Saturday, participate in the "Apocalympics!" Other events around town include the August Bisbee After 5 Artwalk, "Barter Town" at the Bisbee Farmer's Market, mudwrestling, karaoke, survival demonstrations, a book signing, treasure hunt, live music, and more!

When the galleries and shops close up at 8 pm, visit one of our After Party locations! You can grab a cocktail at the Bisbee Grand Saloon, have a late dinner and enjoy live music at The Quarry, enjoy a brew under the stars at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company, or, head up to the Copper City Saloon on OK Street for drinks and entertainment.

Upcoming Events

October 9th-14th, 2018: Bisbee Plein Air Festival -- Artists will be outside "in the open air" painting the historic architecture, sprawling staircases, vintage streets, industrial mining equipment, and colorful homes set amidst the scenic Mule Mountains as part of the 2018 Bisbee Plein Air Festival. Events include a Wet Paint Sale with live music in Grassy Park and gallery receptions at the monthly artwalk! This year's schedule of events is in the works and will include a Youth Plein Air Paint Out, workshops, and an Informal Critique Session!
