SANTA FE — The Legislative Health and Human Services Committee (LHHS) will hold its seventh meeting of the 2018 interim on Tuesday, October 23, through Friday, October 26, 2018, starting at 9:00 a.m. each day.

On Tuesday, October 23, the LHHS will begin the meeting with an Alcohol Use Disorder Summit at the Hernandez Community Center, 19418 U.S. Highway 84/285 in Hernandez. The summit will feature testimony by experts on alcohol dependence and dependence prevention policy. In the afternoon, attendees will be invited to join legislators and experts at roundtables for a working lunch and for facilitated discussions of policy solutions for ending the state's alcohol use disorder crisis. Space is limited. Lunch and roundtable participation will be provided only to the first 40 individuals who R.S.V.P. to Chris Pommier at (505) 986-4651 or chris.pommier@nmlegis.gov by Friday, October 19, 2018.

On Wednesday, October 24, through Friday, October 26, the meeting will take place at the State Capitol in Room 317.

Proposed topics for the week's meeting include alcohol use disorder; family well-being; matters relating to cannabis; and the health care workforce.
