Traffic Report for week of November 11 to 18, 2018

In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Interstates:

I-25, Mile Marker 154 to 157.839, Lemitar 

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction on Interstate 25 in Socorro Co.  Traffic is diverted from southbound driving lanes to northbound driving lanes for the finalization of the project. A 12’ width restriction will be in effect throughout the project. Construction will be Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2018. 

I-10, Mile Marker 133 to 164, Las Cruces to Texas State Line

Las Cruces Barricade (Traffic Control) along with Apache Construction DBA Valley Fence (Contractor) will be performing guardrail replacement along Interstate 10 in Dona Ana Co. starting at mile post 133 headed east to Texas State line. Traffic will encounter lane closures including overnight closures intermittently with eastbound and westbound exits closed off to all traffic as needed as well as reduced interstate speeds limits. The right lane in the eastbound lanes will be closed from MP 140.6 to MP 144.6 starting Monday (11/12/18). The eastbound on ramp at MM 142 will remain open to traffic. The off ramp at Exit 144 to I-25 northbound will also be closed starting Monday (11/12/18) for an estimated duration of 3 days. Construction hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is expected to be completed by July 2019.

I-10, Mile Marker 2.5 to 22, Lordsburg

MWI, Inc. (Contractor) Construction is currently suspended for the  Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

I-10, Mile Marker 85.5, Deming

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have intermittent personnel and equipment on the roadway for bridge deck repairs. Traffic will encounter lane closures on both eastbound and westbound lanes. Speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph, closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Construction hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is expected to be completed by November 2018.

US Roadways:

US 380, Mile Marker 0 to 40, San Antonio

Highway Supply (Contractor) will begin replacement of small signage along US 380 in Socorro County. Traffic will encounter intermittent lane drops for shoulder work. Construction will begin at mile marker 40 working west towards San Antonio. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

US 60, Mile Marker 103 to 117, Magdalena

Cutler Repaving (Contractor) will be repaving the existing surface along US 60. A 12 foot width restriction will be in place. Traffic will encounter a pilot car and flagging operation starting at milepost 103 to 117. Construction hours will be daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and is expected to be completed by November 2018.

US 70, 149 Southbound Solano to Chestnut, Las Cruces

MWI, Inc. (Contractor) will be installing fiber optics along N Main. Traffic will encounter intermittent southbound right lane closures from Solano to West Chestnut. Expect a reduced speed limit. Construction hours will be Tuesday (11/13/2018) to Friday (11/16/2018) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Roadways:

NM 192 mile post 2.1, Mesquite NM

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have intermittent personnel and equipment on the roadway for cattle guard removal starting Wednesday November 14. Traffic will encounter lane closures with a flagging operation. Construction hours will be Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is expected to be completed by November 2018.

NM 404 “E OHara Rd”, Mile Marker 0 to 1, Anthony

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) has begun the installation of a shared use path and lighting along NM 404 "E OHara Rd" in Anthony, New Mexico. Traffic may encounter lane drops and flagging operations. Speed limits will be reduced at times. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

NM 90, Mile Marker 0 to 22.6, Lordsburg to Silver City

Brasier Asphalt (Contractor) will be continuing with roadway reconstruction along NM 90, an 11” width restriction will be in effect. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph at times. Hours of operation will be daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

NM 188 Valley Drive/ NM 28 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive. Currently the active zone of construction is on Valley Drive from Picacho to Amador. Traffic is currently pushed into the northbound lanes as the southbound lanes are closed for construction. Traffic is no longer be able to cross Valley drive using Hadley. Hadley must be closed to allow the installation of underground utilities. Amador is reduced to one lane in each direction and all traffic has been pushed to the Southside of the roadway. Avenida de Mesilla between Valley and Hickory has left lane closures in both direction to allow construction of the detour paving in the median. Construction will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 5 days a week.

NM 15 “Pinos Altos”, Mile Marker 0 to 1.21, Silver City

TLC Construction (Contractor) will be reconstructing the roadway, installing curb and gutter, sidewalk and bike lanes. NM 15 from HWY 180 to the 32nd street interchange will have one-way traffic only. Pine Road will be closed to through traffic at Pine/PA Road intersection while the contractor is reconstructing the intersection. Detours will be in place and traffic is asked to reduce speed and use caution and seek an alternate route if possible. Contractor's hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Construction is scheduled to be completed by spring of 2019.

NM 136 “Pete V Domenici Hwy”, Mile Marker 0.448 to 9.168, Santa Teresa 

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, roadway rehabilitation, bridge rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 136, Pete V Domenici Intl. Hwy. Traffic will encounter lane closures as well as detours with an 11’ width restriction in effect throughout the project, traffic will be moved to the southbound lanes in areas. Outside of the work zone, traffic will still have double lanes in both directions with occasional lane closures for shoulder work. This will continue for approximately 60 to 90 days. In addition, we will only have 2’ outside shoulder going southbound through the bridge section. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

NM 498 “Racetrack Drive” Mile Marker 0.600 to 0.900, Sunland Park 

Hasse Contracting Co., Inc. (Contractor) construction is currently on suspension. NM 498 is closed from Doniphan Drive to Futurity Drive; detour is in place on Sunland Park Drive.

NM 273 “McNutt Road” Mile Marker 0 - 3, Sunland Park

Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 273 “McNutt Rd”. Traffic is being diverted from southbound driving lanes to northbound driving lanes with a single lane of travel in each direction.  Motorists are asked to reduce speed and follow all temporary construction signing.  The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2019.

Chip Sealing Operations:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing “Chip Sealing” with Brooming and Fog Sealing operations in Sierra Co. Speed limit will be reduced, traffic will encounter no center stripe and there will be loose gravel on roadway. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations.   

Roadways affected will be:

NM 177 from milepost 0 to .8, Elephant Butte

NM 181 from mile post 0 to 8.9, T or C to Red Rock

NM 195 “Lakeshore Rd” from milepost 0 to 2 and milepost 3 to 4, Elephant Butte

NM 52 from milepost 0 to 5.9, Cuchillo

NM 142 from milepost 0 to 10, Monticello

NM 179 from mile post 0 to 2.1, Elephant Butte

NM 51 (3rd Street) from milepost 0 to 16, T or C

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Arroyo Road

From Red Hawk Golf Road to Sonoma Ranch Blvd will be closed to through traffic. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed and follow detours around the construction zone.

Brownlee Avenue

From Second Street to Third Street will be closured to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Church Street

From Bowman Avenue to Griggs Street will have one lane closured to traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Fourth Street

Open to through traffic.

Harrelson Street

From Union Avenue to W Conway Avenue will be closured to through traffic. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Las Cruces Avenue

From Church Street to Campo Street and Main Street to Water Street will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Miranda Street

From Parker Avenue to Palmer Avenue will be closured to through traffic. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Roadrunner Parkway

From Bataan Memorial West to Sunridge Drive will be closured to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Second Street

From Picacho Avenue to W Hadley Avenue will be closured to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Water Street

From Bowman Avenue to Griggs Street will have the west lane closured to traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

El Paso Projects – Go 10/Border West Expressway
