WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tom Udall invites New Mexico college students interested in gaining legislative or communications experience to apply forsummer internships in his Washington, D.C. office.

During the upcoming summer internship program, Udall's office in Washington, D.C., will host two five-week summer internship sessions: May 28 to June 28, and July 1 to August 2. There may also be limited availability for students who prefer an internship for the full summer, from May 28 to August 2. Udall’s office will also offer a scholarship to individuals in need of additional financial assistance during the full summer session.

For more information on the internship and scholarship eligibility, please visit here. Please note that the deadline to apply is March 15, 2019.

"Internships on Capitol Hill offer students a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the inner workings of our government and the day-to-day operations of a Senate office,” Udall said. “U.S. Senate interns gain invaluable experience as they learn to navigate the nation’s legislative process and the halls of Capitol Hill. During these internships, students will have the chance to attend committee hearings, witness Senate floor proceedings, write press releases, research legislation and draft correspondence. For young people interested in a career in public service or government, interning on Capitol Hill can be a formative educational experience, and I encourage all interested college students to apply.”

Internships may count toward college credit, and students should check with their respective college or university for requirements.
