Hatch, NM – On May 31, 2019 at around noon the New Mexico State Police received a tip from the United States Marshals Service that two armed and dangerous fugitives who escaped from Pulaski County Detention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 30, 2019 were thought to be traveling through New Mexico.

Investigation lead U.S. Marshals to believe that the two fugitives were headed south on Interstate 25 towards Las Cruces. New Mexico State Police officers were given a description of the duo, who were believed to be in a vehicle displaying an Arkansas license plate. 

State Police officers coordinated from Albuquerque to Las Cruces in an attempt to locate the fugitives. Just after 2:00 p.m. on May 31, 2019, a New Mexico State Police officer spotted a vehicle matching the description on Interstate 25 at about mile marker 47 near Hatch NM. 

Officers conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop on the vehicle and successfully took Jason Michael Brown (31) and Geronimo Medina-Espeicuta (47) both of Little Rock, AR into custody without incident. The two will be extradited back to Arkansas.
