In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Interstates:

I-25, Mile Marker 5.7, Las Cruces

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have lane closures on the southbound driving lane of Interstate 25 at milepost 5.7 for rock placement. Traffic will have reduced speed limits to 45 mph and area may be congested. Construction hours will be Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is expected to be completed by June 21, 2019.

I-10, Mile Marker 133 to 164, Las Cruces to Texas State Line

Valley Fence (Contractor) is currently performing guardrail replacement along Interstate 10 in Dona Ana Co. starting at milepost 133 to the Texas State line. Traffic will encounter lane closures including intermittent overnight closures on the westbound driving lane from milepost 163 to 153. Expect reduced interstate speed limits for safety. No closures expected to exits or on/off ramps.

State Roadways:

NM 404, Mile Marker 0 to 9, Anthony, NM

San Bar Construction (Contractor) will be striping along NM 404 from milepost 0 to 9 (NM 213). Traffic will encounter a shadow vehicle and operation will be slow moving. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, and be cautious of personnel in the area. Construction hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is expected to be completed Friday June 21.

NM 494, Main St from Motel Drive to 7th St, Lordsburg

A Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be performing sidewalk and ADA improvements along Main Street from Motel Drive to 7th Street. Area of construction will be on Main Street and Motel Dr, with only shoulder work at this time. Sidewalks will be closed during construction. Hours will be from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and is expected to be completed by late summer 2019. 

NM 169, Mile Marker 30, Alamo

Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will continue with Bridge Preservation, Bank Armoring, Rip Rap and miscellaneous construction of the Rio Arriba Bridge/Arroyo. All lanes will remain open with only shoulder work at this time. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

NM 181, Mile Marker 3 to 4, T or C 

La Calerita (Contractor) is currently performing bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction operations on NM 181 in Sierra County. NM 181 will be CLOSED during construction with a detour in place. The closure will be 24 hours a day, construction hours will be from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by late summer 2019. 

NM 188 Valley Drive/ NM 28 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive and Avenida de Mesilla. Currently the (2) active zones of construction are on Valley Drive from Picacho to Amador and on Avenida de Mesilla from Valley Drive to Hickory. The contractor will continue with a seven (7) day work schedule with extended work hours in order to expedite the completion of the project to early 2020.

 Valley Drive between Picacho and Amador, traffic is currently detoured onto the southbound lanes as the northbound lanes are closed for construction. Valley drive is expected to reopen all lanes of travel on June 15th, between Amador and Picacho. Traffic can expect continued lane closures along Valley Drive to complete miscellaneous construction and landscaping.

Avenida de Mesilla (NM 28), all traffic is currently detoured onto the eastbound lanes to allow complete reconstruction on westbound lanes; lanes will reopen to traffic on June 26. Left lane closures will occur after the switch to allow completion of median work.

 NM 15 “Pinos Altos”, Mile Marker 0 to 1.21, Silver City

TLC Construction (Contractor) will be continuing roadway reconstruction, installation of curb and gutter, sidewalk and bike lanes. Traffic can expect lanes closures for paving and finalization of project. Contractors' hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Summer of 2019.

NM 136 “Pete V Domenici Hwy”, Mile Marker 0.448 to 9.168, Santa Teresa 

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, roadway rehabilitation, bridge rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 136, Pete V Domenici Intl. Hwy. Traffic will encounter lane closures as well as detours with an 11’ width restriction in effect throughout the project; traffic will have only single lanes of travel both northbound and southbound. The work zone will be from milepost 4.41 to 6.32 working in the northbound lanes. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

NM 498 “Racetrack Drive” Mile Marker 0.600 to 0.900, Sunland Park 

Hasse Contracting Co., Inc. (Contractor) construction is currently on suspension. NM 498 is closed from Doniphan Drive to Futurity Drive; detour is in place on Sunland Park Drive. Construction by the contractor will resume on June 18th, with the project estimated to be complete by October 2019.

NM 273 “McNutt Road” Mile Marker 0 - 3, Sunland Park 

Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 273 “McNutt Rd”. Traffic is switched over to the south side of McNutt Rd from 4th Street to Racetrack Dr. Please be aware that the north side of the intersection of McNutt & Sunland Park Dr. will be closed for approximately 2-3 months during construction; public will have access to businesses on the south side. Nighttime operations are now in effect in order to minimize impacts to business. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2019.

Chip Seal Projects, Sierra Co:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing “Chip Sealing” and “Fog Sealing” with Brooming operations in Sierra and Socorro Co.  Speed limit will be reduced, traffic will encounter no center stripe and there will be loose gravel on roadway. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations.

NM 59 from mile post 31 to 0

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Arroyo Road

From Red Hawk Golf Road to Sonoma Ranch Blvd will be closed to through traffic.  Motorists will be asked to decrease speed and follow detours around the construction zone.

Brownlee Avenue

From Fifth Street to Sixth Street will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Third Street

From Picacho Avenue to Brownlee will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Sixth Street

From Hadley to McFie will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Church Street

From Las Cruces Avenue to the roundabout will have one lane closed to traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Water Street

From Las Cruces Avenue to the roundabout will have one lane closed to traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Downtown Las Cruces

From Bowman Ave. to Las Cruces Ave. has a new traffic pattern. Traffic has been converted to two-way traffic and the change is permanent.

Main Street

From Picacho Ave. to the Downtown roundabout will have one lane closed to traffic. In addition, the left turn lane at the intersection of Picacho Ave. will be closed. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

University Avenue

From Triviz to Locust there will be intermittent lane closures. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and proceed with caution.

El Paso Projects – Go 10/Border West Expressway
