SANTA FE - The New Mexico Film Office will host its 7th annual New Mexico Film & Media Industry Conference on August 9 and 10 at the Hyatt Regency, 330 Tijeras Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. This two-day conference is a chance to learn about the film industry from a wide variety of instructors.

The film industry is booming in New Mexico and conference attendees will have the opportunity to go to multiple training on one subject or to learn about a variety of topics. There will be classes on Wardrobe, Hair & Makeup, Grip, Electric, Art Department, Acting, Film Distribution, and Financing, among other options. 

“This industry is thriving in New Mexico and offers good high-paying jobs,” said Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Keyes of the Economic Development Department. “The conference is a great opportunity to meet professionals face-to-face and learn more about these jobs.” 

“This will be my first year attending the conference as the New Mexico Film Office Director,” said Todd Christensen, “I am looking forward to meeting more of the New Mexico Film Community and sharing my love of what New Mexico has to offer with people new to the industry.”

Early Bird tickets are on sale now at a cost of $35 for students and $55 for regular admission through July 15. Prices will increase to $55 for students and $75 for regular admission from July 16 - August 7. Tickets can also be purchased onsite after August 8 for $75 students and $95 regular admission.
