Dona Ana, NM - On August 11, 2019 at about 3:30 a.m. New Mexico State Police investigated a crash where a pedestrian walking across I-10 was fatally struck by a semi-truck. The incident occurred on I-10 around mile post 150 south of Las Cruces, NM. 

The initial investigation determined that a pedestrian was walking across the lanes of travel of west bound I-10 in a dark area. The pedestrian was struck by a west bound 2012 Freightliner semi-tractor-trailer. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Office of the Medical Investigator is working to identify the pedestrian. The driver of the semi-tractor-trailer was not charged with any crime. 

The incident is currently under investigation by New Mexico State Police with no additional information available at this time.
