ALBUQUERQUE, NM – On Friday, August 16, 2019 the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants (NMSCPA) hosted a full day Women’s Leadership Summit. The summit featured highly qualified speakers and panelists providing women in the field of accounting and auditing with information aimed at empowerment and education to enhance their professional skills.

“The summit, led by an impressive group of inspiring women leaders in private and public professions, honed in on the importance of women leading organizations as well as mentorship and work-life balance,” said Deputy State Auditor, Natalie Cordova, CPA.  “It reinforced my perspective of what makes an organization successful, one of the key aspects being a diverse workforce of women in leadership positions, we truly are a talent source that is often underutilized and organizations seeking growth and success ought to take note.”

“Having women in leadership at the Office of the State Auditor has increased the quality of our work,” said New Mexico State Auditor Brian S. Colón. “Investing in training for our team members is one of the best investments I can make. I am inspired by their willingness to attend these types of events as they make professional growth a priority.”

The New Mexico Office of the State Auditor boasts a staff comprised of fifty percent (50%) women, including a leadership team also comprised of fifty percent (50%) women, including: Deputy State Auditor, Natalie Cordova, CPA; Government Accountability Office Director, Stephanie W. Telles, MBA, CFE; Financial Audit Division Director, Lynette Kennard, CPA, CGFM; Quality Control and Compliance Division Director, Elise Mignardot, CPA.
