Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation District One office (NMDOT) has posted an updated alert as of Thursday August 22, 2019:

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive and Avenida de Mesilla. Currently there is (1) active zone of construction on Valley Drive from Amador to Avenida de Mesilla.

Traffic on Valley Drive will be placed in the northbound lanes to allow full reconstruction of the southbound lanes from Avenida de Mesilla to Amador. Left hand turns will only be allowed at signals, please follow detour signage along Valley Drive. Brown Road will have a detour in place, access will be provided at all times. Access from Valley Drive to Sequoia Road will be closed starting August 22, please utilize Aspen Road as a detour, closure is expected to last one week.

Contractors' hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
