Nominal changes in modeling data reflect similar results from last week’s disclosures

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) –Today, PNM filed an errata and supporting testimony to its consolidated case for the closure, financing, and replacement of the San Juan coal plant that is pending before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission.

Last week, PNM notified stakeholders of a miscalculation within the modeling data. Today’s errata filing formally updates the modelling inputs into the case before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. As previously disclosed, the result of this update is a minimal reduction to the year-one estimated customer savings for each proposed scenario. For the recommended scenario, this is a reduction of savings from $7.11 to $6.87.

The errata shows a slight increase in the total cost of scenarios one and three. For the recommended scenario, the total plan cost increased from $4.672 billion to $4.673 over 20 years.

PNM updated the four scenarios and published those on https://www.pnmforwardtogether.com/poweringthefuture. With regulatory approval, the San Juan coal plant will close in 2022.
