SANTA FE, N.M. – “The Biggest Loser” has started production in and around Santa Fe. The 10-episode season from Endemol Shine North America, in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, is expected to debut on USA Network in 2020, New Mexico Film Office Director Todd Christensen announced Friday.

“The Biggest Loser” is hosted by Bob Harper, a health and fitness expert who was a staple for 17 seasons on the original version of the hit reality series. Erica Lugo and Steve Cook have also joined the series as the show’s new trainers.

“The Santa Fe, New Mexico region offers us a tremendous variety of looks and locations for our production needs,” says Georgie Hurford-Jones, Endemol Shine North America’s Senior Vice President, Unscripted Original Series and Specials. “For a show like ‘The Biggest Loser,’ where we have men and women looking to not only lose weight, but improve their overall well-being, our new location here in the state is ideal on many levels.”

"The variety of film and television projects to pay New Mexico a visit is a testament to our capacity for creative development -- and speaks to the fact that more and more productions recognize New Mexico is the place to be."

“The Biggest Loser filmed 247 episodes over 17 seasons and has been extraordinarily popular in the United States and around the world,” said Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Keyes, of the Economic Development Department. “We are pleased they have chosen to restart the series in New Mexico and will be able to benefit from our wonderfully diverse locations, and our industry incentives.”
