Construction Update: Construction Begins Soon on Second Part
Of I-25 Business Loop Reconstruction Project

Construction will begin in late August or early September on the second part of a two-part project to reconstruct the I-25 Business Loop in Truth or Consequences.

During Phase 1 of that project, expected to last about 1 1/2 months, the following traffic impacts will be in place:
• The northbound and southbound inside lanes of Date Street will be closed in the project area. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction.

The southbound shoulder of the NM 181 bypass will be closed.The contractor will remove some vegetation from the area and will begin storm drain construction.

Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed.
Access will be maintained to all businesses during construction.

About the Project: The project is designed to improve sight distances at turnouts and intersections, address speed issues, provide connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists and improve drainage. The project includes a roundabout at NM 181. Construction is expected to be completed by April 2024.
