Mike Martinez rsMichael R. Martinez, 64, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 8, 1952 in Deming, NM to his biological parents, Nicolas and Josefina Sedillo Rosales and was later legally adopted by his parents, Ernesto N. Martinez, and Guadalupe Remigio Martinez.

Mr. Martinez loved music, he enjoyed listening to music with his son, Jessie.

He was a get up and go type of person; he loved to travel. He'd make trips to Hollywood. He would also go the Pinos Altos where he would stop at the museum or just roam around the forest. He loved going to Deming, his birthplace. He enjoyed going downtown Silver City in his wheelchair seeing his friends and drinking iced tea at the Silver Caf+¬.

He was a friendly, caring man who would open his home to anyone for a meal, coffee, and a place to sleep. Both he and his son Jessie would go to his son Ernie's job to have lunch together.

He loved spending time with his daughters Candice and Krystle. He helped wash Krystle's car and would enjoy a cup of coffee at Candice's home; not only did he spend time with his daughters he also loved spending time with his grandkids on the weekends. He was the best father ever and he truly loved his daughter Desiree. She was his baby girl.

He is survived by two sons, Ernest Martinez of Silver City; Joseph Jessie Martinez of Silver City; three daughters, Krystle Paez of Silver City; Candice Martinez of Silver City; Desiree Martinez of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Oscar, Amaya, Jeremiah, Christian, Isabella, Nicholas, and Ian; two brothers, Rudy Rosales and wife Gloria of Silver City; Isidore R. Almanza of Los Angeles, CA; five sisters, Carmen Rosales Marquez of Bayard; Cecilia Remigio Rosales of Hurley; Roberta Farias and husband Eliseo of San Antonio, TX; Alicia R. Sedillo of Los Angeles, CA; Norma R. Martinez of Altadena, CA; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his biological and adopted parents, his wife, Maria Guadalupe Paez; two brothers, Baby Raul Rosales, and Nick Rosales.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10 from 5 - 6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11 at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Abraham Soliz officiating.

Concluding service an interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Jessie Martinez, Ernest Martinez, Christopher Maynes, Rick Rouse, Robert Solano, Fernando R. Marquez, Krystle Paez, and Mark Bennett.
