maria perez rsMaria (Cuca) del Refugio Perez, 78, of Silver City passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in El Paso, Texas surrounded by her loved ones.

Maria was born on October 9, 1938 to Tomas Leal and Consuelo Cabral in San Pedro de Gallo, Durango Mexico. In 1980, Maria made Silver City her home. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and a good friend. Maria was very generous, kind, grateful, compassionate, and friendly , always there when you needed her. She was a strong and brave lady that never gave up and fought until the last minute. Maria was outgoing, liked to travel and always made sure to enjoy life to the fullest, watching novellas, eating out, talking on the phone and going to church. Her biggest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially her pride and joy who were her 13 children, 37 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and loved with all her heart. She was loved by many and will greatly be missed.

Maria is survived by her daughters, Rosa (Jaime )Perez, Teresa (Oscar) Cadena, Maria Emma Rodriguez (Jose), Hilda (Jose) Enriquez, Angelica (Jesus) Martinez; sons, Adolfo (Aracely), Guillermo, Jesus (Maria)Arturo, Miguel (Selene), Alfonso (Heather); daughter-in-law, Rafaela Perez; 37 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adolfo Perez; children, Alfredo and Maria del Refugio Perez; brothers, Roman, Tomas, Javier and Lorenzo; sister, Marcelina.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 5 to 6pm at Baca's Funeral Chapels and the Funeral Service will follow at 6pm. Concluding service will be at 11am at Baca's Funeral Chapels and immediately following will be the burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Sam Rocha. Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, Adolfo Jr., Guillermo, Jesus, Arturo, Miguel and Alfonso Perez.
