M.E. Nancy Salas, 63, formerly of Silver City, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Joseph's University Hospital in Tucson, AZ surrounded by her children and grandson.

Nancy was born on April 13, 1954 to Manuel and Teresa Salas in Santa Rita. Nancy retired from FBMC in 2010. Nancy loved the Denver Broncos and enjoyed watching Saturday night boxing. She had a generous heart and will continue to help as her wish of being a tissue donor was fulfilled. Nancy leaves behind many friends and we all will miss her quirky sense of humor, her wit and her laughter. Heaven has gained a feisty angel.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Liza Miranda; son, Lawrence Castillo; grandson, Gabriel Miranda and her brother Pete.

She was preceded in death by her son Raymond Castillo, her parents, Manuel and Teresa Salas; brothers, Ricardo and Estevan Salas.

The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at six o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. Officiating will be Deacon Art Gutierrez. The Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, August 25, 2017 at ten o'clock in the morning at Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley. Officiating will be Father Francisco Diaz. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gerry and Sherry Klement.
