beth hand rsBeth Babers Hand, 81, Deming resident passed away peacefully Monday, August 28, 2017 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Beth was born February 29, 1936 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Ed Babers and Esther Wilkerson Babers. She moved with her parents to Deming in 1937 where she grew up. She owned and operated a Chevron jobbership and seven retail Chevron service stations in Deming and successfully built and operated a crude oil production company in northern New Mexico where she lived for over forty years. She served on the board of directors for the Regina Water Association for many years.

Survivors include her children Mike Hand (Joanne) of El Paso, Texas; Janice Mosier (Danny), Nancy Leyba, Edward Hand (Tamara) and Walter Hand, all of Deming. She has 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Ed and Esther; husband, Walter Kenneth Hand and two sisters, Drucilla Jones and Bonnie Edwards.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning, September 5, 2017 from 10 to 11 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 11 o' clock with Eddie Lopez of Pojaque officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
