Freddie Mack Taylor, 75, of Separ and Deming, passed away September 30, 2017, in Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, after a long 5-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He was born March 3, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Coma Pearl (Lancaster) Taylor and Mack Austin Taylor. He has two siblings: Gail (Taylor) Monger (Darrel) and Don Taylor (Cynthia). He has a special aunt: Jeannette Caines of Florida.

He married Barbara Dean Moore on June 24, 1961. He was father to nine children: Freddy Wallace Taylor, Carl Austin Taylor, Kenneth Roy Taylor (LaDonna), Patricia Ann Taylor, Melanie Jo Tharp (Harold), Anni Marie Taylor (Lorenzo), Russell Don Taylor and Frank Olen Johannes. He was Grandpa to 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Guy (Rooster) Johannes, III. He was blessed by many nieces and nephews that he loved to tease.

He loved life, his children and NASCAR. He was a hard worker and worked at many jobs throughout his lifetime including race car mechanic in Dallas. He spent 20 years as a driver for TQAS and was awarded a certificate for "One Million Miles, Accident-Free".

He spent a lot of time cowboying on a family owned ranch. He helped his father-in-law working cattle in a time when making a living running a ranch was nearly impossible. He loved to answer the phone "Taylor Land & Cattle Company", a phrase he picked up from his father.

Services will be at Bright's Funeral Home on Friday, October 6, 2017, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. led by Jason Anderson, 1st Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Justin, Clay & Russell Taylor, Frank Johannes, Harold Tharp, and Wayne Monger. Alternates will be Guy Johannes, IV, Cody Moore and Carl & Kenny Taylor. Honorary pallbearers: Don Taylor and Darrel Monger.
