James "Chamo" A. Morales, 47, a resident of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Silver City.

He was born March 6, 1970 in Silver City, NM to Joseph Rios and Reyna Morales.

He is survived by his father Joseph and wife Rosa Rios of Silver City; four sons, James Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; Frankie Morales of Silver City; Christian Morales of Las Cruces; Jace Morales of Las Cruces; two step-brothers, Mike Arsola of Denver, CO; Danny Ray Portillo of Silver City; three sisters, Lisa Serna (Jaime) and nephews, Zachary and Zane of Pinos Altos; Stefanie Rojas (Ronnie) and niece Jolyssa, and nephew Keanu of Silver City; Jobyna Portillo of Silver City; two God-daughters, Jacqueline and Alicia "My Rose" Trujillo; nine uncles, Manuel Martinez (Margie) of Hurley; Ben "Nino" Martinez of Deming; Arnold Valdez (Patricia) of Las Vegas, NV; Luis Morales (Lucy) of Silver City; Henry Morales and significant other Connie of Lordsburg; Albert Morales (Evelyn) of Silver City; Arturo "Magoo" Morales of Silver City; Ramon "Monchie" Morales of Arenas Valley; and Tommy Rios (Anita) of Silver City; one aunt, Lupe "Nina" Jones (Jimmy) of Silver City.

He was preceded in death by his mother Reyna Rios; his companion, Karen Wilson; maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Sandoval Vasquez; paternal grandparents, Jesus and Isabel Rios; uncles, Tony Rios, Alfred, and Tony Martinez; cousin Brenda Carbajal.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 8 from 2:30 - 3 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to begin at 3 pm with Deacon Bill Holguin officiating. Concluding service cremation will follow.

Pallbearers will be Larry Trujillo, Alan Murillo, Art, Markey, and Albert Morales, Ed Rodriguez, Marvin Morales, and Eric Morales. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Chavez, Carlos Grado, Gabriel Ortega, Gabriel Morales, Richard and Ramon Martinez, Will Fernandez, and Tommy Rios Jr.
