Esperanza G. Lucero, 102, a Fort Bayard resident entered eternal rest peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

She was born February 15, 1915 in Santa Rita, NM to Narciso Garcia and Isabel Villasenor.

She is survived by six daughters, Gloria Acosta (Alex) of San Manuel, AZ; Naomi Apodaca of Tucson, AZ; Teresa Martinez of Silver City; Yolanda Ramirez (Eddie) of Los Lunas, NM5; Loretta Benavidez (Gary) of Silver City; Denise Juarez (Ernie) of Las Vegas, NV; eighteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; fifty great-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Pedro B. Lucero; one daughter, Patricia Muñoz; grandson, Michael Apodaca; five brothers, Arturo, Richard, David, Edmond, and Narciso Garcia; two sisters, Juanita Gomez, and Genoveva Henderson.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 28 from 9-9:30 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 9:30 a.m. with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. at Hurley Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Abraham Soliz officiating. Concluding service and interment will be at Memory Lane cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Peter Acosta, Eddie Apodaca, Robbie Ramirez, Brian Ramirez, Roy Martinez Jr., Aric Ray, Phillip Ray, and Daniel Vindiola.
