Henry R. Turrey, 84, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Mt. View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1933 in El Paso, TX to Estevan and Concepcion Rodriguez Turrey. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita of the family home; two sons, Henry Turrey Jr. (Linda Susie) of Phoenix, AZ; Titus Turrey of Carlsbad; two daughters, Blanca Carpenter of Mimbres; Carla Diaz (Michael) of Silver City; fourteen grandchildren, Kenny Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Cristy Carpenter, Arty Ambriz, Carlos Ambriz, Annisa Ambriz, Camille Altamirano, Jared Diaz, Justin Diaz, Jerome Diaz, Niko Turrey, Levi Turrey, Miguel Medina, and Tamara Pedraza; ten great-grandchildren, Gabriel Rodriguez, Eli Carpenter, Jedidiah Ambriz, Noah Macias, Novale Ambriz, Eziquei Guadian, Peyton Altamirano, Phoenix Altamirano, Sienna Drew Altamirano, Adam Altamirano sister-in-law, Sally Valles; numerous nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph and Julian Valles; one sister, Alice “Licha” Gomez.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 5 from 3-4pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 4pm with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 6 at 9:30am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Niko Turrey, Arty Ambriz Jr., Carlos Ambriz, Ashley Carpenter, Cristy Carpenter, and Annisa Conchita Ambriz.
