Former Louisiana resident Shirley N. Cage-Prather passed away at Silver City Care Center on February 3, 2018 of complications of influenza. She was born in Minden, Louisiana in 1935. She loved all animals and felt that she had to care for them. She adopted many in her lifetime.

Your love was unconditional
Faithful and above the rest,
You brought such joy to my heart
My friend you were the best.
Although you had to leave me
I know that you will wait,
You'll hop into my arms to greet me
When I come through Heaven's gate.

She leaves behind a daughter, Vicki Hawkins and her husband Robert; grandson, Jonathan as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.

I MADE IT HOME
I just wanted to let you all know that
I made it home. The journey wasn't an
easy one, but it didn't take too long. Everything
is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new.
I wish that you all could close your eyes and
that you could see it too. Please try not to
be sad for me. Try to understand God is taking
care of me…..I'm in the shelter of His hands.
Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and
no pain. Here there is no crying and I'll
never hurt again. Here it is so peaceful
when all the angels sing. I really have to go
for now…..I've just got to try my wings.

No service will be held at her request. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.

Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory "Trusted care for the ones you love" ~ 575-537-0777.
