ella king rsElla Mae King, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Ella was a resident of Fort Bayard Medical Center. Ella was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Ella loved reading her bible and any activity that had to do with the great outdoors. She loved going for walks in the woods and going to church on Sunday. Ella was a faithful and God-fearing woman. She always said that taking time to pray and be with God was the best place to find strength. Ella was born on July 31, 1930 to Thelma Lucille Duran and Merritt Skinner in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. She was one of six children and grew up with her siblings in the beautiful Pennsylvania country-side where she gained a love for the great outdoors. Ella was married to Tillman Paul Lantz and had two children, Norman Paul Lantz and Larry Eugene Lantz before losing her husband in a mining accident. Ever the strong woman, Ella moved forward and married her second husband, Norman Ray King. Norman was the man her two sons would soon call Pop and remember he was the most amazing man they had ever known. Ella and Norman were blessed with six children, Raymond Wayne, Edward, Joseph Allen (who died in childbirth), Wilbur, Christine Diane and Laura King.

Ella is survived by her brother, Larry Skinner of Yoder, IN; sister, Ruthanne Livingston of Indiana, PA; five sons, Norman Lantz of Phoenix, AZ, Larry Lantz, Raymond King and Edward King of Silver City, Wilbur King of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Christine King and Laura King of Phoenix, AZ; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Ella was loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Merrit Skinner; two brothers, Ralph and Paul Skinner; one sister, Josephine Skinner; her husbands, Tillman Paul Lantz and Norman Ray King; one son, Joseph Allen King; two great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2018 at ten o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapels. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Lantz, Raymond King, Chance McCauley, Kenneth McCauley and Michael King. Honorary pallbearer will be Edward King.
