glennOn February 22, 2018 Lora Nell Glenn passed from this life to live eternal life with her Savior Jesus Christ with dignity, grace and peace in Silver City, NM. Born December 1930, to Mark and Ann Smith in Lubbock, TX, in her Grandmother's house. Lora Nell and her two bothers Kenneth Smith (Carlsbad, NM) and Bill Smith (Lovington NM), lived on a ranch in Lea County, NM.

Lora Nell graduated from Monument Schools in Monument, NM and then attended Eastern New Mexico College in Portales, NM. While in college Lora Nell met a handsome dancing cowboy by the name of Jeff Glenn. Lora Nell and Jeff danced their way through 10 days shy of 67 years.

Lora Nell and Jeff made their home in Silver City, NM where they raised two children, Mark and Susan. Lora Nell supported Jeff in his business endeavors by being the consummate housewife, bookkeeper, companion and dancing partner. Due to need, she taught herself to sew. Her first dress was a little girls dress taken as a copy from the Model Shop.

Lora Nell is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; son, Mark Glenn (Lynne) of Las Cruces, NM; and daughter, Susan Sumrall (Don) of Silver City; and her remaining brother Bill and his spouse Nancy; and by Kenneth's spouse Patsy Smith.

Lora Nell was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Ann Smith and one brother Kenneth Smith (Patsy).

Lora Nell is also survived by eight grandchildren and step grandchildren and their spouses and thirteen (13) great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Silver City on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, Silver City, NM or the charity of your choosing. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, "Traditional Services and Care for your family and friends", 210 W. College Ave., Silver City, New Mexico, 88061. Phone is 575-388-1911.
