sammy jaurequi rsSammy Jaramillo Jaurequi, 60, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Friday, March 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was born August 11, 1957 in Silver City, NM to Jose V. and Consuelo Jaramillo Jaurequi.

Samuel was a good person, friend, son, and brother. Some people did not understand him but those close to him saw a man who was very helpful and caring. Some of his friends knew him as a caring close friend. Samuel would make sure that he took food and help to several disabled men that he saw on a daily basis. Some of his friends he assisted are not able to fend for themselves. One man, a disabled veteran, depended on him every day. Samuel would see his mom and dad daily and would do various chores. Sammy loved to work on crafts, he especially was known for the crosses he made. Before he became ill he was much more active with hobbies such as fishing. Samuel fought through his pain to help his family and parents. Sammy was a good husband, son, and brother. He believed in God deeply. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his parents, Jose and Consuelo Jaurequi of Silver City; his loving wife, Sandra of the family home; two brothers, Joe Parra (Cecilia) of Santa Clara; Ruben Jaurequi (Denise) of Arenas Valley; two sisters, Rosie Salas (Ventura) of Rio Rancho, NM; Sandra Ortiz (Samuel) of Alamogordo; one nephew, Sidney Hasley of Silver City; two sisters-in-law, Lynda Nordan (Jim) of Louisiana; Brenda Smith (Frank) of Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Jaurequi.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14 from 5-6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to follow at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at St.Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chico Salas, Danny Ortiz, Ruben Jaurequi Jr., Sidney Hasley, Ventura Salas, and Samuel Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Ortiz Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
