rose avila 1 rsrose avila 2 rsRosella Ann Marquez Avila, 45, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

"Rose" was born on July 4, 1972 in Silver City.

Rose lived in Silver City for most of her life and is a graduate of Silver High.

She was employed by Wal-mart for many years.

Rose was the proudest mother and grandmother ever. She loved her daughters and grandsons dearly and could brag about them forever.

She loved the outdoors, hunting, hiking, and fishing. She had the best fishing stories.

She loved making crafts and instilled that love in her talented daughters.

Rose is survived by her parents, Urbano and Viola of Silver City; Pete Marquez of Santa Clara; three daughters, Ashley Bowker (Jeff) of Winfield, KS; Celina Marquez of Winfield, KS; and Laurena Avila of Animas, NM; a sister, Monica Lopez (David) of Taylor, AZ; two brothers, P.J. Marquez of Silver City, and Armando Marquez of Belen, NM. Rose was blessed with three grandsons, Daidrian, Easton, and Rowan. She has one niece Xiomara and three nephews David, Michael, and Joseph. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rose was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Chenny Madrid; her paternal grandmother, Concepcion Marquez; maternal great-grandmother, Simona Costales; step-mother, Joey Marquez and aunt Evie Madrid.

Our dearest daughter, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, you will forever be in our hearts. We will truly miss you. We love you more.

The holy rosary will be held Monday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Carmen Terrazas reciting. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Francisco Diaz officiating. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
