carlos medina rsCarlos Medina, 46, of Silver City passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 4, 2018 at five o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will follow at six o'clock with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at eight-thirty in the morning at Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley with Father Francisco Diaz officiating. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Nanez, Frankie Ramirez IV, Miguel Hernandez, Joey Lopez, Gabriel "Snuffy" Ortega, Artie Sanchez and Ceaser Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Jimenez, Scott Bynum, Arthur Luna, John Martinez, Senator Howie Morales and Robbie Ortega.

Carlos was born on March 7, 1972 to Carmen Medina in Silver City. He graduated from Cobre High School and Western New Mexico University. Carlos enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and made new friends everywhere he went. No one was a stranger to him. He loved to watch Adam Sandler movies, playing horseshoes and corn hole. Carlos was avid Cowboy and Lakers fan and could live on popcorn with hot sauce. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Carlos is survived by his mother, Carmen Carbajal; daughters, Carlee Vye Medina and Catrina Jewel Medina; sons, Carlos Jr. and John Martinez; mother of his children, Blanche Santos; fiancé, Valerie Morales and her daughter, Daezia Morales; siblings, Betty Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez (Alicia), Helen Ramirez, Emma Jimenez (Jose), Victor Medina (Scott Bynum), Willie Nanez (Samantha) and Arthur Luna; nieces, Sabrina Marquez, Ashley Nanez, Angelica Nanez, Estrella Ramirez, Maritza Jimenez, Esperanzah Ramirez, Erica Lopez and Alyssa Lopez; nephews, Anthony Nanez, Miguel Hernandez, Frankie Ramirez, Angelo Espinosa, Alex Lopez, Brandon Lopez and Derrick Lopez; two grand-nieces and five grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Luna and Patrick Lopez.
