zapata 02Antonio Zapata, 88, a resident of San Lorenzo, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Sierra Assisted Living in Tucson, AZ. He was born May 11, 1930 in San Lorenzo to Aniceto and Valentina Altamirano Zapata.

Mr. Zapata proudly served his country with the U.S Army. He is survived by one son, Henry Andazola and wife Charlotte of Pinos Altos; one daughter, Lulu Andazola of Tucson, AZ; two sisters survive him, “Nena” Lopez and husband Freddy, and Aggie Vigil; one grandson, Greg Andazola and wife Denise of Hurley; two granddaughters, Monica Andazola and husband Steve Grijalva of Mimbres; Deborah Villalba and husband Diego of Silver City, NM.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Adelina Holguin; four brothers, Willie, Manuel, Lico, and Chilo Zapata; five sisters, Luz Sepulveda, Rosa Lopez, Cecilia Garcia, Amelia Dominguez, and Licha Bojorquez.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 10:45am at San Lorenzo Cemetery with Deacon Art Gutierrez officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Zapata, Sonny Young, Magoo Ortiz, Greg Andazola, David Zapata, and John Roy Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Tony Zapata, Toy Sepulveda, Willie Zapata, and Antonio Andazola.
