eula amosEula Virginia Woody Amos, 91, a resident of Faywood, NM peacefully completed her life’s journey at home Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 28, 2018 from one to two o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapels in Silver City. The Graveside Service will follow at two o’clock in the afternoon at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Paul Amos. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Teague.

Eula was born March 5, 1927 in Crowder, OK to Davis Ross and Byrdie Mae Shannon Woody. Eula was primarily a homemaker and worked for the post office in Santa Rita and Faywood. She worked side by side with her husband Paul on their farm and ranch in Oklahoma, Arizona and New Mexico. Eula and Paul were married on September 17, 1945 in Fort Smith, AR. They had three daughters and eventually moved to NM in 1955. Eula was a loving wife to Paul for 66 years until his death in 2011. She loved to be outside working in her garden, baking and taking care of her animals.

Eula is survived by her three daughters, Pauletta and her husband, Steve McBride, Arenas Valley; Glenda and husband Lyndall Allison, Arenas Valley; and Beverly Amos, Faywood; three siblings, Iola Stewart, Pontotoc, MS; Ronald Wood, McAlester, OK; and Bertie June Cathy and husband Jack, Meeker, OK; six grandchildren, Paul Allison (Rishean), Arenas Valley; Jack and Shantelle Harrison, Silver City; Toby and Heather McBride, Morenci, AZ; Tandy and Randy Teague, Hanover; Trisha and Glenn Latham, Arenas Valley; and Julie White (Alvin), Arenas Valley; 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and nine brothers and sisters
