Miguel “Mike” G. Barajas, 90, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Monday, October 15, 2018 at Casa Bella Assisted Living in Las Cruces, NM.  He was born October 9, 1928 in Santa Rita, NM to Elias and Michaela Guzman Barajas. Mike proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He worked and retired from Chino Mines. He loved listening and dancing to Mexican music. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks, his favorite teams. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by one son, Ramon Barajas and wife Lucinda of Chandler, AZ; four daughters, Rose Marie Fierro and husband Ed of Las Cruces; Angelina Barajas of Chicago, IL; Rita Valdez and husband Alex of Mesa, AZ; Michele Medina and husband JD of Las Cruces; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; step-children, Becky Franzen (Eric), Hope and Kim Dontje; one sister, Josefina Enriquez of Santa Clara; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Virginia D. Barajas; one brother, Ray Barajas; five sisters, Elisa Lardizabal, Concha Garcia, Socorro Rivera, Maria Arvey and Carmen Barajas.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 18 from 5-6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6 p.m. being recited by Deacon Bill Holguin. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Mike Williams officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Daniel Barajas, Ricky Enriquez, Alex and Antonio Valdez, JD Medina, Tim Jimenez Sr., Marcus and Ryan Benavidez.  Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Barajas.
