gavaldon 02Ronald L. Gavaldon entered eternal rest October 22, 2018 at his residence in Las Cruces, NM. He was born on October 14, 1969 to Filemon Jr. and Jenny Gavaldon in Silver City, NM. He was employed by PNM as a Gas Turbine ICE Journeyman. In June 1992 he met the love of his life Rachel Quesada in Mazatlán. They married the following year June 18, 1994. They had four children. He was a member and elector of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was Warden for the Knights of Columbus Robert G. Gamboa Council #9527. He became a Cursillista in 2014 where he gained many brothers and sisters. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Arabella and Jamaal Torres had a special place in his heart; they will forever have an angel watching over them. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, gambling and traveling. Ronald played the guitar, trumpet, and trombone. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his uncle Oscar and aunt Maria Ana Holguin. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is survived by his wife Rachel, sons Rodney and Randy; princesses, Rhevelyn and Rosalyn of the family home; his mother, Jenny Gavaldon, his brother, Gabriel Gavaldon (Darlene); sister Bertha Gavaldon (Adrian); maternal grandparents, Alfredo and Bertha Legarda; goddaughters, Jaclynn Holguin and Jocelyn Dominguez. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Filemon Sr. and Leonor Gavaldon; aunt Cathy Gavaldon; cousin Lisa Legarda and nephew Stevie Provencio.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 25 from 5-6 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church at1327 N. Miranda St. in Las Cruces, NM 88005 with the holy rosary being recited by Danny Legarda to follow at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Abraham Solis officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rodney and Randy Gavaldon, Oscar Holguin, Oscar Eduardo Holguin, Gabriel Gavaldon, and Adrian Badillo. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his family and friends.
