richardmendozaRicardo R. Mendoza, 30, of Silver City, NM passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence. A Rosary will be recited at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Art Gutierrez officiating. A Celebration of his Life will follow at 2:00pm. Cremation will take place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. 

He was born January 8, 1988 in Albuquerque, NM to Frances Mendoza and Jose Leyba. He was a loving person to his family as Ritchie, but was known to his friends as Fatboy, Fatlife, Dickie or Rich. He was also a die hard Raider fan. Richard was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, his mom always said he would give you the shirt off his back when he would wear one. Richard’s favorite sayings were “I am just here to party” and “I like to party naked.” Richard loved to cook and his specialty was BBQ and anyone who really knew him knew his ribs were the best. Richard loved to laugh when he walked into the room he “was” the party. Richard’s closest friends whom he called brothers Joseph Padilla, Greg Cefarilli, Sam Trujillo, Johnny Lopez, Frankie Carrasco, Henry Sierra, Adam Martinez, and Blue will remember his love and loyalty. 

He is survived by his four beautiful princesses, Trinity, Annaleah, Olivia, and Mattie Rose; his Mother Frances Mendoza of the family home; his father Jose Leyba of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister Stefani Mendoza (Steven) of Silver City; one brother Matt Garcia of Santa Clara; his companion Christine Perez; four nieces, Hayly, Atheiah, Anarosa, and Victoria; four nephews, Antonio, Porter, Michael and Matthe; his adopted grandma Dolores Flores; his grandmother Amelia Mendoza; mother of his baby girl, Angela Gomez; his  godfather Jose Lucero.  Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was received at the golden gates by Our Lord, his grandpa Antonio “Tony” Mendoza, his uncle Gilbert Mendoza, his Aunt Frances McDonald his godmother Valentina Lucero and his brothers Jose Aguilar and B.J. Serna.
