bencomo1Alejandra G. Bencomo passed away quietly, surrounded by her loving family on November 26, 2018. Alejandra was born in Pinos Altos, New Mexico on August 4, 1927 to parents Agapito Garcia and Adelida Aragon Garcia. Alejandra lived in Pinos Altos until she met her future husband Felipe Q. Bencomo after he returned from WWII. Felipe and Alejandra settled in Santa Rita, New Mexico where they began their family and later relocated to Silver City after a house fire and the impending demolition of the Town of Santa Rita.

Felipe and Alejandra settled in their home on Cheyenne St. where she was sometimes mischievous but always a loving presence to her family. On Cheyenne St., Alejandra would bake galletas (bisquits) and empanadas in her wood stove with ingredients that she sometimes found growing wild in the yard. In that home Alejandra would receive the news of the unexpected death of her husband Felipe. Alejandra remained content in her home, her favorite place, through tough times and good times, until her final days.

Alejandra was preceded by her husband Felipe Q. Bencomo; sisters Leonora Trujillo and Benina Castillo; daughters-in-laws Mary G. Bencomo and Nancy Bencomo and grandson Charles Bencomo.
