sandoval 03pgErnest Holguin Sandoval, 50, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1968 in Silver City, NM to Ida Holguin Sandoval. Ernie loved his ole team Dallas Cowboys. He loved to volunteer; especially at Santa Clara Fire Department and the Mile Walk. If someone needed help he was always there. He was a very kind person. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Ida Sandoval and companion Joe M. Lopez of Santa Clara; one sister, Lori Martinez and husband Ted of Silver City; three nephews, Matt and Alec Ortega, and TJ Martinez; two aunts, Clara Holguin of Santa Clara; Ruth Gomez of Las Cruces; his companion, Becky Morales of Tyrone; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Matilde and Seferina Holguin; paternal grandparents Luis and Maria Sandoval; aunts, Carmen Zamora, Frances Castillo; uncle, Jesus Holguin, and Abel Castillo; cousins, Arthur and Michael Gomez. Visitation will be Friday, January 11 at 9 -10 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez to begin at 10 a.m. The funeral liturgy will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service and interment will be at Santa Clara cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Ortega, T.J. Martinez, Ted Martinez, Ernie Lopez, Steve Maxwell, and Larry Baca.
