fraser picRobert Andrew Fraser entered eternal rest on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the family home after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the family home at #4 Aztec, Hurley, New Mexico. He was surrounded by his family and close friends. Robert was born May 1975 in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Francis Chappell/Fraser of the family home, mother Sue Fraser of Hurley, NM., sons Cody Barnes (Melissa) of Montgomery, TX., Ryan Andrew “Drew” Fraser of Silver City, NM., Kyle Waldrop (Amanda) of Hurley, NM., Crista Waldrop of Deming, NM., sister Abbey Townsend (Shane) of Silver City, NM, sister in spirit Janice Miller of Hurley, NM, nephews Tucker Fraser and Keith Townsend of Silver City, NM, grandchildren Emmett Barnes, Aiden Waldrop and Carsyn Smith. Two previous wives Joyce Rico (Patrick) of Las Cruces, NM and Amber Cotton of Silver City, NM, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Robert was preceeded in death by his father James A. “Jim” Fraser, two sisters Mary Alice and Rebecca Ann, Grandparents James and Hazel Fraser and Charles and Margie Bailey.

Robert grew up in Hurley, NM. After graduating high school he joined the Army Reserves. He was discharged honorably as a corporal. After the Army Reserves he moved to Huntsville, TX., where he managed a successful welding distribution company. Robert attended WNMU where he was also a welding instructor. He eventually started his own business in Hurley called “Slow Poke”. Robert will always be remembered for his passion to help others. He has inspired many family members and friends.  Robert was a devoted husband, father, son and friend. Robert loved spending time with friends in late night Jam Sessions. He also received loving care from Patricia Kuchenmeister, Jeremiah McCarty and Jess Jackson for their unending devotion and help.
