pedraza 02 copyGenaro Centeno Pedraza, 84, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Friday, January 18, 2019 at Silver City Care Center. He was born July 10, 1934 in Santa Rita, NM to Tranquilino and Juana C. Pedraza. Genaro proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and was a Cursillista. He was a volunteer at Ft. Bayard Medical Center and the Knights of Columbus, by taking flowers to sick members or whatever needed. He loved delivering the Thanksgiving turkey baskets to all the needy families. He was a Bingo volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima Church. His pride and joy were his loving wife, children, and grandchildren whom he was always concerned about. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. The baseball games were his priority when his sons were small and now his grandsons and granddaughters. He was an avid Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the NFL games. When he was a young man he played for the miners and Santa Rita miners. He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rosie of the family home; three sons, Larry Pedraza of San Angelo, TX; Genaro Pedraza Jr. and wife Priscilla of Bayard; Robert Pedraza of Tempe, AZ; three daughters, Ramona Muñoz and husband Rick of Bayard; Rosalie Rios and husband Larry of Arena Valley; Yvonne Arzola and husband Angel of Bayard; fifteen grandchildren, Gilbert, Maria, Juan, Joseph, Joseph Frank and Armando Muñoz (which he saw like his sons), Janelle, Ashley, Desiree Rene, Gabriel Genaro, Lawrence, Loriann, Daniel, Adam, and Valerie; eight great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jasmin, Arianna Jo, Alaynah, Trinity, Arena, Jace and Luke; one great-great granddaughter, Xyliana; three sisters, Carmen Nuñez, Mary Lou Marrujo, and Frances “Kika” Ambriz and husband Ambrosio; one brother in-law, Alfredo Marrujo; two sister in-laws, Mary Madrid and Ofelia Salazar  

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Enrique Pedraza; one sister, Lupe Marrujo; nephew, Gilbert Enrique “Kito” Pedraza; niece, Florencia P. Gonzales. Visitation will be Thursday, January 24 from 5-6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil being recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez and Bobby Morales will recite the holy rosary. On Friday, January 25 the Divine Mercy will be recited by Carmen Terrazas at 8:30 a.m. the funeral liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Kao officiating. Concluding service and interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph and Armando Muñoz, Lawrence and Daniel Rios, Gabriel Pedraza, and Adam Arzola. Honorary pallbearers will be Knight of Columbus, Cursillistas, compadres, God-children, and the remainder of family members and friends, and his brother in-laws, Ambrosio Ambriz and Alfredo Marrujo.
