Michael Steven Brunk 64 of Silver City, New Mexico with sadness we share the passing of our Reverend of the First United Methodist Church on Monday, February 11, 2019 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at The First United Methodist Church on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Burial will be held by family at a later date. He is survived by his sons Andrew Steven Brunk of Silver City, NM, Jonathan Patrick Brunk his wife (Devany Brunk) of Portales, New Mexico, two sisters Sandy Silver and Ann Palmore both of Pawhatan, Virginia. He was preceeded in death by his parents; Arnold Spencer Brunk Jr., his mother Anita June Wood Brunk, his wife of 41 years Joyce A. Brunk who passed away in 2017. Mr. Brunk was born in Richmond, Virginia, in which he always stated it was an “Ordination from the Almighty God”, to be born there. His Highest education is Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Theological Seminary. Mr. Brunk had a Master of Divinity and served as a Reverend for over 35 years. He was a very dear friend, fisherman, and prankster. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hiking in the New Mexico mountains, loved dogs especially his dog named “Chili”.  Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, “Traditional Services and Care for your family and friends”, 210 W.
